Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2020 action-adventure comedy film based on the video game franchise published by Sega. The first Sonic was introduced as a series of legs. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler under his direction. And Pat Casey and written by Josh Miller.

It stars Sonic the Hedgehog and Jim Carrey as Doctor Schwennik, as well as Ben Marshartz as the voice of James Marsden, Tika Simper, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pal and Neil McDonough. In the film, Sonic discovers his lost rings, and Dr. Robotnik works with the local town sheriff Tom Wakowski to escape.

Most of the cast were signed by August 2018, and principal filming took place on Vancouver Island between September and October of that year. After negative feedback for the first trailer in 2019, the film’s release was delayed by three months to redesign Sonic.
